This AI agent can generate and reprioritize its task list as it executes tasks one by one, with its primary task being to create its next task. The agent can be provided with any core objective, such as "making the world a better place."

Interestingly, when given the objective to generate as many paperclips as possible, the agent first generated security measures, which was noticed by Eliezer Yudkowsky, the creator of the Paperclips Apocalypse theory. This led to discussions on AI safety and potential countermeasures.

Despite security concerns, Yohei open-sourced a pared-down version of the task-driven autonomous agent, "Baby AGI." The agent comprises three task agents (execution, creation, and prioritization) that work together indefinitely. The task execution agent has access to Zapier NLA and ChatGPT, enabling it to access APIs, search the web, and send emails.

While the agent is not self-modifying, it could theoretically duplicate itself if given access to its Python REPL. However, this possibility seems unlikely with the current model.
